Should we be worried that this job drain is happening? It is hampering our economy, but was inevitable even before mass globalization. “Geography is history” and America is now facing the balancing of a global economy. This just means that we have to stay competitive in the global economy. I loved what was said about nationalistic pride. It’s not that we are incapable of keeping those jobs, but rather that we are growing dull by not stressing factors like education and opportunity, as America once did. We became world leaders (and still remain world leaders) because of our embrace of cultures from around the world to form places like the Silicon Valley. It is our spirit of letting people define the boundaries and limits to push our country further. Once we cut off funding in schools, once we impede technological growth to hold onto subsidized, failing industries, or hold low expectations for our youth of this country, we cut off that which is the future hope for this country. I love India’s drive. I love their spirit. It’s not something to fear, but something to appreciate.
