I watched Jia Yi Ying’s story of her life and how she had left her hometown to go to Shenzhen. She really shows her maturity in taking her parent’s words to heart. Although her parents were not very creative in her discipline, she learned how to appreciate the harshness of it because she realized the world was harsher.
One concern I have for young Jia Yi Ying is that she seems to think that the ownership of her own business is freedom. It is true that she will have more control over her future if she owns her own business, but business is like war in China. She may be find herself trapped in a different world than that of an employee under a manager. Politics and deception is a game she must learn to play.
I will definitely come back to this site to view many other stories similar to (or maybe entirely different from) Jia Yi Ying’s story. For now, I can say that I was touched by her love for people, especially her family. She doesn’t need support anymore, but instead, she desires to be the support for her family. Truly inspiring. These people get life and see it for what it really is. I don’t think it’s representative of the entire population of each country, but it shows the general principles, values, attitudes, history, and language of each respective country. These are what make people so beautiful!
I can’t seem to access the WSJ article. So, I will leave the comments at that.
